Yachats,
Oregon
Yachats, Oregon is located at
the mouth of the Yachats River and is one of the few places where
the sea-run smelt come to spawn on the beaches. Yachats is also
known as the "Gem of the Oregon Coast".
One of the highest points on the
Oregon Coast is located just south of Yachats...Cape Perpetua.
You will find a dramatic view of the ocean from this 800 foot
headland.
Yachats holds a special place in
the hearts of myself and my husband. Cozy small beaches scatter
the coastline here in between the rock formations. Yachats has
provided a walking path along the full length of their coastline
and it's a joy to stroll along and watch the waves just steps
away from the path. This is one of the few places we know of where
you can have an ocean view and a dog. The businesses are extremely
friendly.
