Oceanside,
Oregon
Oceanside, Oregon, located just
off US 101 on 131, has a famous agate hunting beach. One of the
Oregon Coast's most beautiful settings, Oceanside is a must stop!
Be sure to get to Oceanside at low tide. This is
when you can walk around the headland just to the North where
the good agates are waiting! Walk south on the beach and you will
likely find Sand Dollars. There are miles of uncrowded beaches.
Nearby is Three Arch Rocks National Wildlife Refuge, established
in 1907. It's the site of our largest sea bird colonies, as well
as a colony of sea lions.
Also nearby is Cape Meares and Cape Lookout State
Park. At Maxwell Mountain you will most likely find hang gliders
jumping off the 700 foot high point.
